    Too….much….talk. If Iki really wanted to go back, he should have been gone by now.

    As for the page, it was a bit of a letdown because it only confirmed us what we’ve been all expecting. While this isn’t a bad thing, you could have said it in two panels maximum, while using the others to keep the story going.

    Don’t get me wrong. I like the comic and the characters, but the story has lost a lot of its initial momentum. We’re 170 pages into the comic yet in terms of plot, very little has been accomplished so far. With books it is affordable to add more meat on the bones because the readers need the descriptions, but with comics I believe it’s better to go for the “less is more” approach.

    I am aware that this comment might sting a little bit, but it is for the best and maybe it will give you something to think about if you’re planning on making sequels/prequels or more off-white related stuff.

      i personally think this page adds alot to the comic , instead of jumping into it, it adds character and shows personality well.

        Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. It just happened that in this case, ours differ.

        I do not think this page adds a lot to the comic because we had quite a lot of time to get familiarized with the characters. If their personalities were a bit more complex and there were more moral choices involved along with a less linear plot line to build that upon, then an extra number of pages wouldn’t hurt.

        However, Off-white is much more simple than that, and thus I think it’s better to move on with the story rather than empathize what has already been empathized.

        I do not know how I wronged you, but please don’t start assuming things about me and my preferences. Speaking my mind about the few things I was not pleased with does not equal total dislike towards the whole comic.

        If you want to debate about this further then you’re my guest, although I do think it’s quite pointless to argue about how our point of view differs.

      Now come on, comics are supposed to be slow. It would be VERY fast paced and bad if all that happened in 2 panels. This gives the characters some “thinking space” and a personality. May I remind you that these pages will actually be read in a few minutes flat if in a book, so it wouldn’t really bother anyone. It seems a lot longer for us because we wait a week for each page. Sometimes a comic needs to be slow. otherwise it’s-
      Raigho: Let’s go.
      Iki: We’ve gotta go help
      Raigho: No. You’re grounded.
      Iki: BUT RAIGHO-
      Ragho: SHUT UP

      The next part begins.

      No one really has conversations like that.

      Sorry if that sounded like a rant o__o’

        Wow, that dialogue is tougher than wood xD Of course it wouldn’t work, but I think that cutting a little chunk of it would not be a bad idea as well. Plus, you can use actions to get past conversations such as this one and save the space that would have otherwise be occupied by 3 panels of dialogue.

    Honestly, I don’t know how wise it is for Raigho to try pushing Iki around, least of all becoming aggressive and initiating another potential fight; Iki isn’t even challenging his leadership like Fehu did, he’s making his own individual decisions (what, Gebo was allowed to, but Iki isn’t? You’re being awful suspicious, Raigho..)

    Consider what one snow leopard (around a hundred-pound cat) did to an entire team of hunters and sled dogs when they threatened it; they’re obviously remarkably more powerful than any other worldly being.

    Iki may be a goofball who has shown extremely little of his abnormal abilities, but it really would be interesting to see him “pushed too far”, so to speak. I’m not so convinced that Raigho would come out on top. Whether that would be good or bad, I’m not sure; I for one do not fully trust Raigho, to tell the truth.
    Not only does he lie and keep things from his family, but especially as of late, he’s become very headstrong, reckless and hostile to the point of violence. Not really good leadership qualities, in the opinions of most.
    If he’s truly on their side, I sure hope he knows what he’s doing.

    Not to mention, seemingly lighthearted and easy-going or not, Iki has already shown irritation and defiance before, when Raigho was simply rushing him to hurry up.
    To me, it looks like things could go either way right now, and I’m very intrigued to see the next page. Amazing work as always.

          That’s really not a sensible thing to ask for. :\ These pages don’t take minutes to finish up, they take days, probably a week or more to do. So your request isn’t really logical.

    Anyone else get the feeling that Raigo may have had past experiences/run-ins with humans before? Considering how he reacted once he found out Othala’s pack were pilfering the local sheep, he knew and expected swift repercussions from the townsfolk and got his pack out of the forest. Also he immediately understand Gebo was talking about a hunting party on horses when he described monsters two-head elk with snakes that spit lighting.

      Iki isnt speaking his side though he is telling Raigo what to do. He is also stating that he is going to do what ever he wants no matter what.

      This in the wolf world is a big no no. Not only that but the whole reason that they are on the journey is to bring Iki to the other wolf spirit if he leaves this whole journey is for nothing

      Also remember that the ravens told Raigo that he was going to slow and he needed to pick up the pace, going all the way back will take more time and energy then the pack can afford

      I feel really bad for Raigo here, because he is given this large task and he can’t even tell his pack the truth making it all the more difficult.

        Actually, wolves can and do leave their packs for numerous reasons; that’s how new packs start all the time.
        Iki isn’t challenging Raigho, nor is he giving him or the others orders, from what I’ve gathered from his dialogue.
        Notice “I don’t know about you guys, but I’m going back.” This isn’t exactly a command, is it?

        Raigho is basically trying to hold him captive, although when Gebo announced the same thing, he was more than happy to get rid of him.

        To me, it’s obvious that he only wants Iki around because he knows he’s the white spirit, otherwise he’d have probably let him go without argument like he did Gebo, even though he knew that humans would be hunting that pack because they had killed livestock; he basically sent Gebo to his death without even trying to explain about the dangers, or convince him otherwise. Some “leader”..

        I truly hope it’s also because he cares about Iki and doesn’t want him getting hurt or killed, but if he considered Gebo’s life so expendable, I’m not so sure anymore…

          Gebo was completely disrespectful, and since Raigho wasnt about to hold HIM captive he let Gebo go, Gebo should have been much more grateful to Raigho like the wiser Fehu did. but Iki is like his son and very important to their whole journey and yes Raigho telling him hes not going anywhere is Raigho showing care about Iki since Iki has no chance against thos humans, spirit or not, I doubt Iki has much control over it, and if u remember the history told before, humans have successfully destroyed spirits before. Iki is just being a child and doesnt see the real world like the wise leader that raigho is does.

          Raigho didnt know that the humans attacked for all he knew he was just letting Gebo go back to his old pack he knew how the other leader was living was dangerous but he couldn’t hold Gebo there against his will.

          But now that he knows that humans are killing the hell out of wolves over there im sure he wouldn’t let anyone try to go back or at least advise against it very strongly

          I agree that this out burst is a little over board, but its out of fustration. not only that but Iki is a little head strong.

    This situation is just so clashing. Iki’s white spirit is kicking in to go back and save the survivors, which includes Kaya who he loves, but they are looking for the white spirit, which is Iki. I hope it turns out OK.

      why do people keep saying his ‘spirit is talking here’? did anyone notice that a couple pages ago, when Iki saw gebo coming, his speaking bubble was glowing blue? (hint hint) Well im looking at this page and non of Iki’s bubbles r blue -_-….this isnt his spirit talking, its just Iki’s own caring personality and his naive childishness since he obvious doesnt realize that wat hes saying is much more easily said then done.

    Raigho is absolutely right, as wolves they don’t stand a chance against humans, especially that kind. Iki’s not thinking things through at all, after all hes a child. Their best interest is themselves, their OWN survival, not some OTHER pack that totally disrespected them in the first place. Besides, their short on time anyway, they need to get to their destination, there’s no time for going back! Shut up Iki and listen to the Alpha.

      Th other pack welcomed them… They offered them food and shelter but Raigho got mad about the sheep and ordered them to leave. Personally, I kinda hate Raigho now… Alpha or not he’s being a d*ck to everyone, no wonder he and Jera fell in love.
      The authors are probably going of realistic behaviors but man… I don’t really like him to much. He could be a little calmer, hmm? Tell Fehu what’s going on, sneak down there and see if they can help and maybe be a little nicer to the alpha female… Stories great nonetheless :D
      (Just my opinion, *plugs ears and waits to be yelled at*)

        the reason Raigho is being such a d*ck at the momment is because he has to take Iki to the other wolf to save their kind and possibly the world. It is a huge responsibilty and since he can’t tell his pack the truth it is harder to get them there.

        They dont have the time or strength to turn back and help the other pack. The other pack died because their Alpha thought hunting sheep was a good idea, Raigho thought it wasnt got his pack out of there and they are still alive.

        Also he can’t go back and be nicer to the Alpha female because well she is dead the only ones who survied the attack was Gebo and that other female that Iki liked but i can’t remember the name of

        although Iki’s idea sounds great it isnt the smartest thing to do. Iki is young and hasn’t ever delt with humans before he doesn’t understand why Raigho knows they can’t fight against them. Yeah Raigho is being an ass right now but he really has no choice in the matter.

        HA! “Welcomed Them” they tried attacking them remember? The only reason they didn’t attack is because Fehu knew them! And THEY are the ones who were stupid because honestly you would kill that pack too if they were affecting your survival! They killed them to live, not for sport like some ass holes out there are! Biiiiiig difference. Now Raigho being secretive.. I think that is just for story purposes to create more conflict :P

          No one seems to be taking into account how powerful Iki may be, though. I’m not sure if Raigho knows much about the spirits or not, but if one single snow leopard could obliterate an entire team of well-armed hunters and nearly all of their dogs without moving a muscle, I’m not entirely convinced that Iki would be so easy to capture, hurt or kill.
          He may seldom show any of his spirit’s abilities, but surely they’re there. Besides, it would be a pretty dull plot if they didn’t even manifest themselves when they were needed so badly. Personally, I really hope he gets an epic scene like that someday. I think there’s much more than meets the eye to him.

            i think u guys hav forgotten about how humans hav already succeeded in killing a spirit before, hence y the humans r looking for Iki. Besides Iki doesnt have much control yet, yes hes got power sleeping in him, but it wouldnt be smart to put him in front of a gun and watch wat happens…and THANK U! for thos that stook up for Raigho, that other pack indeed was disrespectful and the Alpha was very foolish compared to our wise Raigho. No wonder their pack died. At least Raigho has kept his pack safe, Gebo was just as foolish and left Raigho after everything he did for him and Fehu. and notice how the much more grateful fehu stayed with Raigho? Raigho also has all kinds of pressure on him, hes looking out for the best for his pack, its not his fault he HAS to follow the black spirits orders, (y arent we mad at the black spirit? cuz we know there must be reasons…well y cant we just trust in the already proved himself alpha and assume that Raigho has his reasons too?) so Fehu bitching at him and now the humans and Ikis foolish talk of going back? Id be pissed too….i keep thinking “omg just shut up and listen to raigho! hes the only one thats rationalizing here!”

            Iki is going to leave, no matter how wrong he is, thats just who he, that and its good plot.

            the thing is that Raigho has to put family first thats his job. Iki doesnt have that job, not only that but I think he has a certian female in mind…..

    Incredible as always. <3 God I love this comic.
    My only issue is in the last panel, don't you think Raigho's reaction would at least trigger some sort of shift in Iki's position, if not a flinch/wince? I mean, the way Raigho lashes out like that; it'd take balls (or ridiculously slow reflexes) to just stand there, unmoving.
    … Unless there's something I'm missing here.

        Do you think his spirit would be that unwise, anyway? Hati knew they had to get away; Hati is a spirit, wise and able to see the best choice. Skoll would be able to see the same. He more than likely wouldn’t suggest risking being attacked by the humans.

    Problems after problems for poor Raigho. Fehu challenging him, Iki slamming into him, Gebo returning all crazy-like, then Iki challenging him. He’s just going to have to hike up them big-boy pants and get everyone moving. Iki will be overpowered by the pack’s decision to run, and I highly doubt his powers will surface now. I’m expectinbg them to surface perhaps when a member is killed.

    This is a great page, as usual, the expressions are fluid and the ambient lighting in the background is really beautiful. The only fault I can see is with the text in the second panel, where it says “I don’t about you guys…”, should that be “I don’t know about you guys”?

    Well, well, well, Iki is drawing a thin line with Raigho. He still probably isn’t in the greatest of mood from Fehu. Now gebo randomly pops up. And Iki. Yeah, I wouldn’t be in a great mood either. Plus with the possible threat of everyone being killed, that would stress anyone out. Unless you’re an insane maniac D: But, Iki has a point. Ya never know ti’ll ya try right? Super Iki to the rescue!
