This was directed at “lifehurts”. Dude, a rabied wolf would do that – but aside from that, the wolves would never actually attack a human being without reason. NO, I am NOT saying they`d welcome a human in their pack like, WOAH MAN, NICE TO HAVE YOU HERE! Even though, there has been a few accounts of wolves taking in young children into their packs and raising them (just throwing that out there). Damn.

    Eh, if some of you folks hate humanity… wouldn’t you hate yourselves and everyone you love- eherm, hate? I mean, really. This is a freaking comic folks, big whoop.

    People kill animals no matter where you go, it’s the way life is. I know, big shock to all you people who have lived your whole lives sheltered in a cozy little house with electricity and T.V and power, and plumbing, and such, but, this is life.

    I’ve known this was how our cruddy world works since I was five. Trust me, not fun, but, that just means I’m gonna be able to survive better.
    It’s just the same as killing coyotes. Except, everyone says coyotes are pests, but, wolves are a bit too. They are scavengers, and will make a kill where possible. Folks kill them just because they are protecting their livestock, pets, and, possibly family.

    The world goes ’round, folks. And if you can’t handle it, just, please, shrivel up, and drop off the planet to spare us other people some grief.

    Wolves actually take the least amount of human livestock. The biggest killer? Weather and neglect. Coyotes take a larger amount, but both can be prevented in a number of ways. Simply to have your own pack of dogs living with the livestock and radio transmissions are of the most effective. Therefore, it is laziness and human error that leads to the death of most livestock and innocent wild animals.

      Oh, you’re so funny. Wolves not attacking us on sight: what kind of bloody animal behaviour expert are you? Wolves have a prey drive, like every wild animal, and will easily take away a small child or baby if it suits them. I have read up on my wolf history for your information, I don’t know what sort of drug-induced haze you’ve been on when reading books but there have been reports of man-eating wolves and they are dangerous wild animals. They have teeth, we have guns: fair play.

      Plus, nice way to completely disregard what has happened before this point. These wolves were killing lifestock. Farmers make a living off this, probably their only source of income in this time period would’ve been lifestock and a wolf killing a sheep would cost them a hell of a lot of money and would just throw a years worth of material (feeding them and such) down the drain.

      But, sure, go run up to a wolf and pray that it just ‘runs away’ and doesn’t bite you. Hope you get a tetanus shot.

          I’m here because I like the comic and the artwork but the way people are reacting to fictional wolves dying is beyond stupid. Saying innocent people should die and that the human race is nothing but evil. It isn’t, really. The human race does great things, beautiful things for nature.

          Besides, wolves kill smaller canines such as coyotes to prevent them being a danger to their own food stock so why can’t we do the same to wolves? It’s nature. It’s competition. Appreciate nature and its wildlife by all means but that’s not the thing to do when it’s eating your food stock and your only source of income.

          Why do you think the authors included the sheep? They could’ve easily left that part out and just had the wolves unreasonably killed by the hunters. THEN I would’ve been ‘yeah, that’s a bit harsh’ but there was a good reason for these wolves getting killed. God, one of the characters even warns them about it and they ignore them.

            Yeah, they had a reason, but they still didn’t need to kill the wolves. They could think about ways to protect their sheep, so the wolves won’t even come near those sheep. It’s easy enough and would take much less time. They should at least give it a try.

        itd be like making a house next to polar bears, and then calling polar bears man-eating killers because they had attacked someone. or releasing tigers in a farmers neighborhood and expecting nothing to happen. thats just not right :\
        also, i dont understand how farmers havent found a way to block all entry in and out of the pastures yet after all these years. youd think theyd come up with something to block them from coming in..
        but again, wolves usually dont hunt livestock. its usually their last resource of food.
        this comic though shows otherwise.

        Maybe you read up on it but you clearly didn`t understand the facts correctly. Sure, there are some animal – maneaters out there, but these behaviours are developped with time. When an animal starts seeing human kind as not-so-scary anymore, they will start preying on them. But this only happens when humans ask for such interactions; such as expanding settlements in a place where these wild predators have established territory. Otherwise, wolves would NOT confront a man. They would NOT attack either, unless felt threatened in any way or protecting their young (maybe if they were injured too). Obviously, a rabied wolf would attack.

        Now, rather than spitting nonesense on here for everyone to see and think you retarded, you should not even comment at all. Thank you for your respect & time. Take care of yourself :)

      You do know wolves are one of the predator species that also kills for fun. It’s a common nature called surplus killing and is common amoung most predators. Hell even lions kill cubs without eating them. Not to mention most wolf hunting occurs when wolf population rises to a uproar. Ever since wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone there has been no management. This is causing other species to drop in population numbers.
