So we say goodbye to Raigho. But I have a feeling things will not turn out as they seem.
I also wonder if Skoll has ever felt the pain of loosing someone. Maybe this is his first time feeling that pain.
You’re forgetting about Askr. Skoll’s current coldfish behavior towards the balance of the world (as mentioned in his conversation with Hati) has a lot to do with Askr’s death. Also having lived through numerous lives he’s probably had his own share of heartbreaks like this.
Skoll doesn’t think anything can be done about the balance now that Askr’s gone, that’s how much her death impacted him; so he just wants to live one final, mortal life before everything goes to shit (so to speak). That mortal life would have been with Raigho and the pack, so naturally that’ll probably give him some sort of reaction.
He seems more like he’s grimly accepting Raigho’s death more than anything. As if it’s something unfortunate and painful that he won’t live to see a full life with Raigho there, but not much else.
But still, it when he has talking to Hati I had the impression he didn’t care. But after he saw Askr’s death. It took away a pretty big piece of his belief in the world. I can’t imagine how big the hole in his heart is. But thats not what bothering me, its that Raigho and Hati are related, he probably has some feeling towards family. If he didn’t feel anything that would be cruel
I’m not saying that he doesn’t care, just that the experiences he’s had before hand have buffered it to where his reaction is probably more of a grim acceptance. Skoll is a spirit and has probably seen more than his own share of death over the years, so seeing someone he cares about will still hurt, but he can come to terms or accept that it happened faster than someone who never has. His Iki persona will probably have more reaction than Skoll’s giving when he snaps out of it.
Okay. I wonder how Skoll felt when he saw Askr die. P.s there is no Iki persona, Skoll just happens to be living in Iki’s body. In time Iki will learn of Skoll’s presence. But Skoll is just an observer of Iki’s life. The more important thing is where did Iki come from, If you were to find a wolf pup in the middle of nowhere with no one around. Wouldn’t that be odd?
It’s a persona to me and that’s simply how I see it, to be honest. Mainly looking at it as a kind of mask that Skoll’s kinda got lost in. I believe Hunin or Munin mentioned something of that nature, ‘believing his own lies’.
I have numerous ideas on why Iki appeared the way he did, but there aren’t enough context clues for it to be explained plausibly, so it’d mostly be conjecture at this point. :b
Im sort of putting the pieces together with what I predict will happen. Im sort of figuring out this puzzle
It’s more like trying to do a rubix cube and then realizing someone decided to be a little shit and move all the stickers around, ain’t it?
It’s fun though. Thinking of why x is the way it is and looking at y and trying to figure it out.
XD PERFECT DESCRIPTION!
You have a perfect description of this comic. Ur right it is like a rubix cube. And rubix cubes are annoying and they are even more annoying when everything is flipped around.
Actually, it’s stated in the comic that Iki is just Skoll. Just with the memories locked up.
Then why did Skoll need to inhabit Iki’s body?
They are reincarnated (You know, born again?).
(I think they need an actual body to be able to do anything, instead of being a spirit existing aimlessly.)
http://off-white.eu/comic/page-196/ <– Why he doesn't remember he is Skoll.
I get what your saying and I believe u now. but what I dont get is Iki himself. If he’s Skoll reborn then why does he have a fresh set of memories, and after his meeting with Hati was does Skoll happen to act like he has no memory of the event. Is Iki just a separate personality that Skoll created. If u can try to make sense of what Im trying to say it would help me alot
Alright, let me try to restate what you said. He doesn’t have the same memories as before, and remembers nothing of his meet with Hati.
Ok, so he either Iki himself did not remember, or it was Skoll talking to Fehu about it being a bad dream. He was smiling rather suspiciously at that point.
Iki may be a separate personality made by Skoll himself, (problem is, I am not too sure on the meaning of ‘personality’), but he seems to be pretty similar to Skoll, at least I think so, considering we don’t know what Skoll was like originally, when he was just new.
It might be that it’s mental repression, so that he doesn’t feel the pain of his memories, but seems to forget rather on purpose.
Maybe they are kinda separate and that they are only connected on the basic personality, and then Iki just grew from there. Who knows, maybe Iki is completely a different guy from Skoll now or becomes eventually, then creating a problem for Skoll.
………wow not only did you write long. all of it made perfect sense. Thanks for clearing that up, but there still more to this mystery
Yup, there always will be more. I’m starting to confuse myself now trying to think too hard on this.
Its something like this, “How do you keep a big secrete from everyone? Answer? “You stick it right under the noses and wait”
I think I do that to people, either I’m really good at keeping secrets, or everyone else just isn’t good at finding out secrets.
I think you’re onto something. lol this is what I think. When Hati was talking with Skoll, of course Skoll was the one that had taken charge of iki’s body. I think seeing Raigho in the condition it’s in as caused iki to use skoll’s power but I think that Iki’s the one that’s in charge. (I’m just guessing because Iki, not Skoll, cared about Raigho.) I wouldn’t be surprised if Iki will be aware of Skoll now that he’s awakened his potential to use Skoll’s magic. I can see a battle of wills between Iki and Skoll in the future, I think Iki will want to restore balance while Skoll still won’t give a care.
Maybe ur right. But did u read Shus reply to what I said
You mean about Askr?
Yes. but thanks for the support
Goodbye Raigho ;-; °(° TT^TT °)°/
its so stupid you named the page farewell. its not obvious from the comic at all what happened if hes trying to heal raigho or if raigho is dead. your stupid title just spoilt everything
Calm down. They can name the page what every they want. It didn’t spoil everything at all, it just implies. For all we know Skoll may bring him back, or might just leave him there. There’s so many ways this title can be interpreted, but what you have said is just rude.
Go to therapy if you get that upset over a title.
I think it’s stupid that everything should be obvious just for you.
I feel like crying T^T -cries
Any news on “Milk for the Ugly” Tho? I’m being serious.
I think it is a good tittle and the off white writers want us to read more to see if he lives or if he dies but to be honest i think it’s for the girl. So sorry writers I am not a very good person to remember names even if there my favorite characters so sorry.
